UI work in Peter Clark’s Decrypt (on vimeo). Process breakdown
help; my wife keeps giving ordinary stuff cyberpunk names, like calling our smartphones “datapads” and the fresh fruit smoothies i make for her “nutrient slurry”
I wanna see cyberpunk literature where the protagonist is not some console jockey or what have you. I want to see what life is like for everyone else, not just the criminal underclass.
Replaying E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy and I really wish there was a novelization of this game. It’s such a interesting blend of cyberpunk and fantasy that it’s really such a shame the plot and game mechanics are kinda meh.
Actually now that I think of it the game is kinda meh. But dat atmosphere and concepts though.

“STOP WATCHING PORN ON MY WRITING COMPUTER!”
“STOP WRITING ON MY PORN COMPUTER!”
“YOU’RE A MARRIED MAN YOU SHOULDN’T NEED A PORN COMPUTER!”
“YOU WRITE LIKE A SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD YOU SHOULDN’T NEED A WRITING COMPUTER!”
UPDATE. SHE THREW THE LAPTOP OUT OF THE WINDOW AND WALKED OFF. HE STOOD THERE LOOKING FORLORN AND THEN CLEARLY REALISED I WAS LOOKING, WAVED AND SHOUTED “NEVER GET A WIFE, LESBIAN NEIGHBOUR.”
I am impressed about two things. 1) I am lesbian neighbour and 2) he knew I was awake.
I’m a little concerned/amused by the amount of notes this post has gotten.
I was just thinking about porn guy and remembered this story. I’m amused again by this. I need to take him a cake on the 1st anniversary of this conversation.
moderator: what are your thoughts on the cyberwar
trump: i have a son. great son. hes 10 yrs old. he has a computer. hes so good at the computer you wouldnt even believe
this one isn’t even a jokey meme, it’s just part of the transcript of the debate
Maybe, if we want to see more diversity in gaming, we’re going about it the wrong way. American/European developers are busy marketing to their own demographics, and for the most part I don’t see that changing. Maybe we need to let developers in other nations, like these, know that we’re interested in what they’ve created.
1) “I don’t know what that thing is, and it scares me.”
2) “I have a vague notion of what that device might be, but I don’t understand it so it scares me.”
3) “I’ve read a half-assed article about that device, so I understand what it is, but it still scares me.”
4) “My friend has the device and I’ve seen them use it. I’m no longer scared. Now I’m irritated.”
5) “OH MY GOD HOW DID I EVER LIVE WITHOUT THIS DEVICE.”
6) “You’re still using that device? Idiot.”
hey if youre ever playing skyrim on pc and you open up the console command and type in “player.placeatme 6DC9D 20 setscale 5″ you can spawn 20 mammoth-sized rabbits. it doesnt accomplish anything and if you have a shitty computer it might break the game and cause it to shut down but if it works fine youll have a bunch of enormous rabbits and thats cool
“So, you can imagine it as someone who keeps upgrading to the newest computer, but is only running Windows 98 on it -”
“Miss? Windows 98 doesn’t exist yet. We’re only on Windows 10.”
I… I feel old, y'all.
and of course finally:
Now I am always one of the first to believe ‘not all men do this, not all men do that’, but the amount of harassment I have received in the world of online gaming is just unreal. Girls should be able to game without being patronized. Girls should be able to game without sex coming into the conversation. Girls should be able to game and not be insulted. Girls should be able to play what they want and do what they want online and not have sexist, objectifying, rude comments hurled at them. It’s not hard to be respectful. Live and let live.
Yup
